Commercial Project: Seacoast Mission Weald Bethel

The Maine Seacoast Mission has been expanding their programs at its Downeast Campus. In order to better accommodate the increased activity, they decided to add on to the Weald Bethel Chapel, which sits on a sloping site in a clearing on the grounds. The chapel space, which is much loved, is to be preserved, and in order to maintain its appearance from the front, this two-story addition, which will house a commercial kitchen, offices, lobby, and community spaces, will be built on the rear of the building. Also, the existing basement of the chapel will be turned into shower/ toilet facilities for the many volunteers who come to do community work in the summer. The design phase is complete, and construction underway.
